Women's Performance Hockey

Loughborough University offers a unique environment to develop in sport whilst gaining a prestigious degree. Loughborough Students Hockey Club offers many competitive opportunities; the first team play in the England Hockey Investec Premier League (outdoor), British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Premier League as well as the Midlands Division (indoor).

Each year Loughborough University invests a million pounds in performance sport, and a million pounds in facilities. Thanks to this investment, Head Coach Jamie Cachia is able to lead a professional programme of coaching and support.

As a first team squad member you will receive expert coaching, access to our world class facilities, heavily discounted Powerbase gym membership, strength and conditioning training, sports science and sports medicine support.

A normal week could include:

1:1 meetings with the Head Coach
2 team training sessions
2 optional individual skill sessions
2 matches - BUCS on Wednesday and National League at the weekend
Strength and conditioning sessions
Team video analysis sessions and unlimited access to our sharing platform HUDL
Massage and physiotherapy
Nutrition support

Jamie Cachia

Head Coach

Jamie has been involved in university hockey since 2006 as both a player and coach. As a former Scottish senior international goalkeeper, gaining over 50 international caps, worked for EDP as a goalkeeper coach and as an assistant coach for the Scottish Senior Mens, he brings a wealth of experience to our hockey program. Jamie’s aim for the program is to develop the team as both people and players while giving them the best hockey experience of their lives.
