Loughborough scholar Alisha Rees set a new Scottish Indoor 60m record as she took the Scottish National indoor title in Glasgow.

Her time of 7.33 eclipsed a record that had stood since 2003 and takes her to the top of the early British indoor rankings for the year.

The athlete, coached by Leon Baptiste, is currently in her third year at Loughborough and will now look to go one better than her silver medal in last year’s BUCs Indoor Championships in Sheffield on February 14th.

There was a further Scottish Indoor title for another Loughborough Student as postgraduate student Mhairi Patience took the women’s 400m title in front of training partner Megan Davies.
