Lightning name line-up to face Harlequins Women

Lightning will make three changes to their starting line-up for this weekend’s Tyrrells Premier 15s clash versus last season’s finalists, Harlequins Women.

Head coach Rhys Edwards makes a straight swap in the front row for the home fixture, with Detysha Harper replacing Katie Trevarthen at prop. Natasha Jones also steps up into the centres alongside Emily Scarratt, with Rachael Woosey set to start on the wing.

After last week’s dominant performance against Wasps, Lightning will look to build again, challenging Harlequins physically whilst looking to play the free flowing, fast paced rugby they are famed for.

The game, which will be live streamed on England Rugby and TP15’s platforms will kick off at 2pm.

Ahead of the fixture, Head Coach Rhys Edwards said:

“Harlequins this weekend is going to be a very tough game. They have shown in the first five games of the season how competitive they can be and have produced some pretty big results.

“I am very pleased with the progress we have made since the start of the season; every match we play we are adding yet another layer to our game. We showed against Saracens how effective we can be when we apply pressure to teams - pair that pressure with our ability to play out wide and we can beat any team in the league.

“Our plan this week is to put the game plan of Saracens, the flair we had against Firwood Waterloo and the work rate and go forward that we showed against Wasps into one performance. We know it’s going to be a big challenge but we are approaching it like every other game and it will be interesting to see where we are early on in the season building towards the playoffs.”
