Black History Month - Slavery discussion

This interactive session will showcase research by staff in the Social Sciences about the legacy of slavery.

We will discuss the themes of compensation paid to slave owners after the abolition of slavery in the British Empire, and the ongoing controversy around reparations for victims and recent admissions of institutional responsibility.

The audience will participate by discussing short readings distributed at the event.
