Creative Arts at Loughborough

Our courses aim to cultivate and hone originality within students, continuously encouraging their artistic development and empowering them to occupy their own unique creative spaces with confidence.

The School’s focus is upon providing a vibrant, innovative, and practical environment in which students can fully explore their creative capacity under guidance of expert academic and technical support staff. Students are inspired to develop a wide range of skills and experiences through creative hands-on work and via the School’s extensive industry links.

Links with industry

All our Creative Arts undergraduate degrees offer the opportunity to integrate a work placement or study abroad year.

This is an invaluable opportunity for students to explore future career paths, network with employers and broaden their cultural horizons. Recent placement destinations of Creative Arts students include Mondelez, The Walt Disney Company, H&M, Suzie Turner, Dr. Martens, The MTC, Nacho Carbonell, Debenhams and more. Students are also provided with opportunities to work on real-life industry project briefs or to partake in renowned competitions.

Facilities

Creative Arts students at Loughborough have access to a range of world-class facilities, regardless of which course they study. Our state-of-the-art Creative Hubs provide industry-standard production possibilities and facilitate a high level of professional training. These are as follows: Creative Digital Technologies and Photography; Print, Dye, Weave, Stitch and Digital Embroidery; Wood, Metal, Plastics, Laser, and 3D Printing; Painting and Printmaking; and Ceramics and Mouldmaking. The Arts Degree Show

Final year students can showcase their work at our widely anticipated annual Degree Show, which attracts employers and industry contacts from across the UK. Foundation students are invited to take part in the Art and Design Foundation Exhibition which runs alongside the Degree Show.
