English Language requirements
All incoming exchange students should be capable of studying degree-level modules in English. The minimum recommended level of proficiency is CEFR B2 (independent user).
Evidence of English Language ability
For single-semester exchanges (less than six months), no formal English Language qualification is required.
For full year exchanges (more than six months), if you are applying for a Student visa and are not considered an exempt national by UKVI, you will need to provide evidence that your English language competency meets the University’s requirements to support your Student visa application.
More information is available below.
Pre-Sessional English courses
If your English is not at the level required for your exchange programme and you are hoping to study at Loughborough for a full year or in Semester 1, you may wish to consider a Pre-Sessional course. These are delivered by the Academic Language Support Service (ALSS) during the summer and both online and in-person options are available.
