Guarantor Scheme

Loughborough University has partnered with Housing Hand to support Students requiring a UK Guarantor. Many private landlords and letting agents ask tenants to have a rent guarantor in place, who would be responsible for covering the rent if the tenant is unable to make a payment.

A rent guarantor is a person who agrees to take legal responsibility for the rent if the student is unable to make a payment. Having a rent guarantor in place is a reliable and widely accepted way to increase your options when renting in the UK.

Housing Hand is committed to supporting students, which is why their rent guarantor service is designed to be flexible and accessible.

If you need a UK rent guarantor, you can choose to pay the fee upfront or spread the cost over 6 or 12 months to suit your budget.

How does it work?

Find your new accommodation

Before starting your guarantor application, you will need to have your accommodation details ready. If you have not secured a property yet, we recommend using Loughborough Studentpad, our free house-finding service, to search for University-approved accommodation.
