Tom had been within the Centre for just over 2 years, working on the On-machine Sensors and Metrology project with Professor Peter Kinnell. Prior to this, he completed his BA, MSc and PhD In Mechanical and Optical Engineering here at Loughborough University.
Earlier this year, Tom was approached by the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry who obviously spotted his talent for working in the research space between academia an industry. Whilst we were sad to see him go, there is a great deal of pride in having our Researchers recognised for their work and recruited within manufacturing and industry’s top-tier organisations.
Established in 2010, the MTC is an independent Research & Technology organisation and it has grown from strength to strength, now boasting over 700 talented employees based within their three sites at Coventry, Oxford and Liverpool.
Tom has promised to come back and visit the team at the IAC regularly and will always be very welcome – just as long as he doesn’t try to recruit any more of his ex-colleagues!!
