Dr Christopher Minson has been performing research on human adaptation to environmental exposure, cardiovascular health, and autonomic-vascular regulation for over 20 years in the department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon.

Current research is focused on the health benefits of environmental exposures for the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Dr Minson has published numerous papers on vascular function and health in women related to sex steroids and contraceptive use. He is also focused on the physiology of athletic performance, and has worked with many professional sports teams, Olympic athletes, and collegiate athletes from around the world to prepare for training and competition in extreme environments and to use environmental exposure to improve performance. 

Dr Minson is Co-Director of the Exercise and Environmental Physiology Labs at the University of Oregon, and is a Founder of the Bowerman Sports Science Center, located in historic Hayward Field. He is a consultant to the Bowerman Track Club, a Nike-sponsored professional track program. He is also a co-Founder and the Chief Science Officer at NatureQuant, LLC, a technology company focused on improving health through nature.

During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Minson will be collaborating with Dr Samantha Rowland from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
