Dr Chris McGlory

Dr Chris McGlory completed his PhD at the University of Stirling (2011-2014) and a four-year postdoctoral research fellow role at McMaster University (2014-2018), prior to being offered a faculty position at Queen’s University, Canda.
He is the director of the Nutrition and Metabolism Research Group at Queen’s University. He leads a team of 3 Postdoctoral Fellows, 3 PhD students, and 4 MSc students. His work focuses on application of stable isotopic tracer techniques to better understand the mechanisms driving human skeletal muscle disuse atrophy. To support his research, he has secured over $3 million in funding and has published over 70 papers with a h-index of 39 and over 6000 citations.
During their Biddle Family Scholarship, Dr McGlory is collaborating with Dr Thomas Balshaw from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
