Dr. Becca Leopkey is an Associate Professor in Sports Management at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, USA. Dr. Leopkey completed her BLRS in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of New Brunswick and her MA and Ph.D. in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, Canada.

Her research focuses on understanding major sport event organizing committee issues such as governance, legacy, hosting, innovation and risk management. Additional areas of interest include macro-organizational issues at international sport organizations. Her research has been funded multiple times by the International Olympic Committee and has been presented at all major international sport management conferences including the North American Society for Sport Management, the European Association of Sport Management, and the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand. In addition, she has published research in the leading sport and event management journals such as the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, and Event Management. 

During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Leopkey will be collaborating with Dr Verity Postlethwaite from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
