Dr Dana Ellis

Dr. Dana Ellis is an Associate Professor in Sports Administration at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. She completed her BA in Kinesiology at Western University and her MA and Ph.D. in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
Her research focuses on investigating organizational elements of mega and major sport events. In particular she has focused on ambush marketing, mega-event sponsorship and branding, the application of organization theory in sport events, joint bidding and hosting, and the Olympic Games. Dr. Ellis has presented her work at various conferences including the North American Society for Sport Management, the European Association of Sport Management, and the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand. She has also published her research in journals such as the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review and European Sport Management Quarterly and contributed to books such as the Sage Handbook of Sport Management and The Routledge Handbook of Sport Management.
During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Ellis will be collaborating with Dr Verity Postlethwaite from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
