CLiMB Director Professor Amanda Daley presented a guest lecture at Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) as part of Loughborough University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor’s delegation to West Africa in June 2025. The session brought together a diverse audience of academics, policy makers, health professionals, and medical students — all united in their passion for advancing public and global health.

CLiMB’s vision for global health, which began with the creation of CLiMB Ghana in 2023, involves building partnerships between UK, European and African universities and research institutes to identify interventions and policies to prevent, treat and manage the growing burden of non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes in Africa.

Professor Daley said, “We are excited about the growing momentum around CLiMB’s international reach and the opportunities to foster meaningful cross-country collaborations that promote equity, innovation, and local leadership in health.”

Following the visit to LASUCOM, work will begin to explore opportunities for research collaboration, training, and potential exchange programmes.
