Innovation is an integral part of our department activities. By engaging in innovation activities we ensure that the research we conduct is both cutting edge and relevant to the real world.

Innovation and enterprise is a key part of the Loughborough experience, and the opportunities available across campus bring benefits to all that are associated with Loughborough.

Within the Department of Physics we have four key areas of focus for innovation:

Student learning: Optional enterprise-related modules are offered on all our degree programmes.
Student opportunities: Our placement scheme combined with extra-curricular activities offer students the opportunity to enhance their skills and learning and improve their employability.
Research with impact: The partnerships we build through innovation and enterprise strengthen our research and ensure that it has a route to impact for social, cultural or economic benefit.
Working with industry: Organisations can partner us through student and graduate recruitment, consultancy, collaborative research, licensing, and premises on the University’s Science and Enterprise Park.
