Title: Biophysics and artificial tissue

Abstract: I will describe some of my recent biophysics work related to the modelling of artificial tissue. I will begin by motivating work on artificial tissue. Part I will discuss recent work on a combined contractile network / force dipole model to understand cell ordering in artificial tissues on multiple length scales [1]. Part II will focus on vascularisation in artificial tissues and work on computational vascular growth algorithms [2].
