Dennis Smith
It is with sadness that we share the news of Dennis Smith's passing. Dennis was a respected Emeritus Professor in Sociology and former Head of the Department of Social Sciences.
He was well-known for his leadership in sociology, serving as Vice-President of the European Sociological Association and editing Current Sociology from 2002 to 2010.
We extend our deepest condolences to Dennis' family during this difficult time. Many colleagues knew Dennis well, and our thoughts are with them as they mourn his loss. Dennis will be remembered fondly for his contributions to sociology and his kindness towards others.
