Robert Martin Field

16 July 1957 – 13 August 2022

Bob was educated at Borden School, Sittingbourne and his Loughborough University of Technology years were spent in The Holt. Bob studied Civil Engineering and graduated with Diploma in Industrial Studies on 11 July 1979.

Bob was initially employed by Henry Boot Construction but over the course of his broad career he worked for several consultancy firms and undertook overseas work in Kuwait and Qatar to name but two overseas postings.

Bob enjoyed folk and rock music, snooker, squash, running (including several London Marathons) and long-distance walking.

He was actively involved in the South East Region of Mensa where he began suggesting ‘things to do’, introducing new activities and fresh experiences.

Bob lived with Parkinson’s Disease for his last few years and died suddenly and unexpectedly from an infection.

His funeral was held on 21 September at the Garden of England Crematorium and was attended by a throng of long standing local and Loughborough friends. Bob was a quiet, private, and dependable man, never critical of others a gifted motivator with a somewhat adventurous, as well as a generous, spirit.

He leaves his partner Tina and stepson Harvey, also his brother Barry and family.
