Martyn Dennis Hooper

He attended Loughborough Colleges from 1958 to 1960, graduating with a Certificate in Education for Physical Education. 

In 2010, Martyn was awarded an honorary BSc in Sport, Exercise and Health Science degree as part of Loughborough University’s centenary celebrations. 

Shortly before his death, Martyn wrote a short poem entitled “For my family & friends-Short Reflections”.

When I die
Think only this on me 

He was an ordinary bloke
Who hardly drank and didn’t smoke

And as for all things digital
He couldn’t work it out at all

But best of all he had good friends
Who stayed with him until the end

My family too have been my prop
They always helped me such a lot

Well that’s all folks, I said it was short
Thanks to you all and its “Goodnight from me”
