Peter Norman Eckford-Jones

Peter Norman Eckford-Jones, born 9th October 1930 in Calcutta, India. In 1947 Peter left India to study aircraft Engineering at Loughborough College and graduated after four years in 1951.
In 1962 Peter left Avro in Manchester to work at the Hamburger Flugzeugbau in Hamburg, the reason was that he had married a Swedish girl who preferred Hamburg to Manchester.
In 1970 AIRBUS started and Peter worked in Munich for three years and afterwards four years in Toulouse a very interesting time for him and for his family.
In 1979 Peter returned to Germany to work for the German Airbus plant in Hamburg where he stayed till he retired in 1995.
Peter once remarked : "My old technical college has developed into a great university, how wonderful".
