Clement John Osband

John enjoyed and appreciated all the professional expertise he received during his time in the Craft Department, wisely guided by its Head, Mr. Ockenden. He also recognised his great good fortune with Mentors such as Edward Barnsley and David Leach

He went on to be an enthusiastic teacher, first at the local Garendon School and then at Peter Symonds Grammar School in Winchester, where he introduced Loughborough style Design into a neglected Woodwork shop. A spell in William Edwards Mixed Secondary Modern in Essex completed the spectrum of his experience.

A chance sighting of an advert in the Times Educational Supplement for a One Year Temporary Lecturer at Loughborough was a tempting opportunity and opened up his career to a new phase at Loughborough, teaching Creative Design from 1966 - 1982.

John always valued his time at Loughborough, acquiring the skills and experience that shaped his life.
