Athletics superstars to compete at LEAP

Loughborough University will host some of the biggest names in athletics this Saturday (29 July 2023) as the Loughborough European Athletics Permit (LEAP) returns to campus for another year.

In a star-studded line-up, spectators will see global superstars including Asha Philip, Olivia Breen, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Bekah Walton, Emily Borthwick, Imani Lansiquot, and Abigail Irozuru all compete for glory at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium.

With the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games now just a year away, athletics’ top athletes will be looking to make a positive impression as the build-up to Paris begins to intensify.

Loughborough will also welcome top athletes from France, Greece, Australia, Dominica Republic, Nigeria, and Puerto Rico.

Track events include the 100m, 200m, 400m, sprint hurdles & 400m hurdles for men and women.

There will also be competitive action in the field events, including in the men and women's javelin, men's and women's long jump, men’s and women's pole vault, men's and women’s discus, women's high jump and men’s and women's hammer.

Gates open for LEAP at 12 noon with sporting action underway from 1pm.
