Loughborough’s Ranah Stoiber is on the verge of a maiden Grand Slam Juniors tennis final after advancing to the semi-finals of the Australian Open Juniors.

The Loughborough University National Tennis Academy (LUNTA) player looked in confident mood throughout her quarter-final match, brushing aside Poland’s Weronika Ewald in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

The number thirteen seed will now face another tough test in Russia’s Mirra Andreeva with a place in Saturday’s final at stake.

Stoiber, who will have the backing of the whole Loughborough University community, will discover her fate tomorrow evening with the match starting at 02:00 GMT.
