Loughborough University has announced that specialist tall clothing retailer Long Tall Sally will continue as Lightning Netball’s headline sponsor for the upcoming 2024 Super League season.

Following an incredible 2023 campaign – where Vic Burgess’ side won the league title – the partnership has been extended for a further 12 months and will continue to see Long Tall Sally as the main kit sponsors for both the club’s home and away dresses.

Long Tall Sally will also sponsor Lightning’s player of the match awards as Lightning look to retain the netball’s top crown.

Loughborough Lightning have been members of the Super League since its inception in 2005 and boast a squad full of international talent and emerging future stars of the sport. The club has a phenomenal record in the Netball Super League, having been crowned champions in both 2023 and 2021, and runners-up in 2022.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Long Tall Sally on board for another season,” said Rich Ellis, Head of Commercial Partnerships and Sports Facilities, Loughborough University.

“Long Tall Sally is a brand that resonates hugely with our players, staff, and supporters and remains at the forefront of women’s fashion. We all enjoyed an incredible campaign in 2023 by winning the Netball Super League title and we’re grateful to the team at Long Tall Sally for playing their part in a remarkable season.

“We’re now looking forward to next season when we can hopefully win yet more silverware in a massively competitive league.”

Antony Talbot, Trading Director, Long Tall Sally, expressed his enthusiasm by saying: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Loughborough Lightning for the upcoming 2024 Super League season.

“After the tremendous success of the 2023 campaign, we’re thrilled to be the headline sponsor for another 12 months. Long Tall Sally remains dedicated to empowering tall women to feel confident by embracing their height and breaking boundaries, and we eagerly anticipate another season of shared triumphs and achievements.”

Lightning’s 2024 campaign will officially begin on Saturday 17 February with the ‘Season Opener’ at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham. Featuring five back-to-back games across the day, Lightning will take on Surrey Storm in front of an expected raucous crowd.
