Staff Sport

This is a great recreational sporting opportunity that is open to Loughborough staff members and postgraduates (only PHD students). Scroll further to find out more!

How to get involved

Staff sport aims to create fun sessions throughout the week which provide an opportunity for staff members and postgraduates (PHD students) to get active! The sessions contain friendly match play with no obligation to play every week. To participate, please sign up to the desired session on the Loughborough Sport app under the Staff Sport tab. These sessions are all self-led.

Weekly Sessions

Thursday 1:00-2:00pm

Friday 12:00-1:00pm

Any abilities are welcome to come play doubles matches at the staff badminton sessions in a fun and friendly environment. We aim to mix things up, so everyone gets to play matches, whatever your skill level. If you have your own equipment, please bring it along but basic rackets can be provided at the information desk.

These sessions prove to be extremely popular and with limited spaces available at each session, booking via the Loughborough Sport app is essential.

Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm (Holywell Rubber Crumb)

Friday 12:30-1:30pm (PEC Rubber Crumb)

Staff football game sizes are dependent on the amount of participants but are guaranteed to be fun! Balls and bibs areprovided, so all you need to bring is footwear suitable for artificial pitches. Groups of friends, departments and individuals are all welcome, whatever your skill level.

These sessions prove to be popular so booking on the Loughborough Sport App is essential.

Staff Netball

We have a staff netball set up. This isn't quite consistent yet, so check out the Loughborough Sport App for updates on when it is on every week, because the times and locations may change.

We have also created a Teams Channel for staff netball where you can ask questions and be part of a community! If you would like to join the channel, click HERE

Active Lunchtime

Active lunchtimes:  12:00-1:00pm various days

Theses sessions cover a variety of sports which change each week. Past sports include lacrosse, volleyball, tennis, dodgeball, wheelchair basketball and ultimate frisbee!

Active lunchtimes run weekly throughout the year and are designed for staff to try a range of sports available here at Loughborough which they may have never tried before. The sessions are fun introductions to each sport and all equipment is provided.

These sessions are communicated via email- if you are interested in attending this, please send an email to staff.sport@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk and you will be added to the mailing list.
