Access Requirements for 2023/24

Please see below the latest information on how to access the Athletics Centre from 1 September 2023. These changes will align the Athletics Centre with Powerbase, ensuring the continued provision of elite performance focused environments at Loughborough University.

How will I access?

All users of the Athletics Centre will need one or a combination of the following going forward:

Loughborough Sport Gold Membership – exclusive access to the Athletics Centre is a 2023/24 benefit. Required for access to HiPAC Gym. Click here to find out more about the 2023/24 membership offer.
AU Athletics Membership – more details to follow on how the 2023/24 membership can be purchased; price - £140 per year.
Loughborough Sport Athletics Partner Membership – provided to selected members of the World Class Plan or England Athletics Hub and available to purchase for specified training partners (as agreed by Loughborough University’s Director of Athletics). Required for access to HiPAC Gym. Price - £140 per year. Must be purchased in addition to a Gold Membership to access outside of Open Public Sessions.
Pay As You Go Open Public Single Entry – £4.50 per session; discounts available for Loughborough Sport Purple, Bronze and Silver Members.

To access before 9AM and after 8PM Mon-Thu, after 12:30PM Fri & Sat, all day Sun, you will need:

To access 6PM–8PM Tues and Thurs, and 10.30AM–12.30pm Sat, you will need:

To access 1PM–8PM Mon-Thu, you will need:

To access 9AM-1PM Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-10:30AM Sat, you will need:

Gold AND AU Athletics Memberships AND Performance Session Eligibility (provided by Loughborough University’s Director of Athletics)

Gold AND Athletics Partner Memberships AND Performance Session Eligibility (provided by Loughborough University’s Director of Athletics)

When will these changes take effect?

These new access requirements will be applied from 1 September 2023.

  • If you have a current Gold Membership, either fixed term or pay by monthly direct debit, please note you will need to be in the AU Athletics Club or granted Loughborough Sport Athletics Partner status to access outside of Open Public Sessions.
  • If you have a current fixed term Silver or Bronze Membership (3 or 12 months), you will continue to be able to access Open Public Sessions on the terms of the membership you purchased up until the end date; however, upon the end of your current membership in 2023/24, you will need to upgrade to a Gold Membership for continued access to Open Public Sessions. To access Extended AU Sessions you will need to upgrade to a Gold Membership on 1 Sep as well as purchase an AU Athletics Club or Athletics Partner Membership.
  • If you have a monthly Silver or Bronze Membership paid by direct debit, you will be able to access until 31 August 2023 but the terms of your membership will change from 1 September.  To access the Athletics Centre from this point you will need to upgrade to a monthly Gold Membership.
  • If you are a member of the community who is not eligible for a Gold Membership or Loughborough Sport Athletics Partner status, access to Open Public Sessions will continue to be available on a PAYG basis at £4.50 a session with discounts available for Loughborough Sport Purple, Bronze and Silver Members.
