Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University?

After visiting the campus for an open day, I knew I would enjoy every moment in that University if I had got in. I chose Loughborough for its vibrant campus, amazing social life and well-respected academia; it’s all a student could ask for.

What is the best thing about your course?

I am very interested in everything that shapes, defines, and makes up our society and the PPE degree is the perfect degree for just that. I really enjoy the fact that my degree is always linked back to modern day society, and we can discuss how big decisions impact the world from a political, economic, and philosophical viewpoint.

What do you think of the teaching quality and facilities?

I think Loughborough is known to have state of the art facilities, all departments on campus look very new and it is very apparent that the University constantly reinvest in its facilities for all the students to use.

Tell us about a favourite project/module on your course?

I personally love the political aspect to my degree and my favourite module to date has been 'International Political Theory'. I found the lecturer Dr Chris Zebrowski to be very engaging and I definitely found it the most enjoyable!

What kind of support have you had from your department and/or from the University?

I have found my personal tutor very helpful, I usually book bi-weekly meetings with him to check my essays and I ensure to get relevant feedback, so I know where to improve on so every essay I submit gets better and better.

Have you completed/will you complete a placement year whilst at University?

Initially, whilst starting off at Loughborough I wasn’t very keen on doing a placement because I was set on doing a 10-week summer internship instead. But as I met more second and third year students, I realised that doing a placement makes you much more employable and the chances of getting a full time job offer is much higher!

What do you hope to do when you graduate, and how will your Loughborough degree support this?

I plan on working in Finance or Consulting in the city. I wholeheartedly believe I have chosen the best degree for this route as it will aid me in every way possible to break into these industries; on an intellectual level my degree would allow me to understand concepts from various viewpoints which I think employers highly value.

What would you say to someone considering your course?

Do it!

How do you find the social atmosphere on campus?

Amazing. The Loughborough student satisfaction was rated the best in the country for a reason and it is clear if you visit the campus at any day, any time during the term.

What is your favourite thing about being a Loughborough University student?

I love the unique hall culture at Loughborough which is at the heart of everything that occurs on campus. I am Hall Chair of David Collett Hall on campus and the competition between halls whether that be through IMS, Freshers or Media battles is so enjoyable, and it just builds such a strong community; somewhere you can genuinely call home.

How has Loughborough inspired you?

Loughborough has inspired me to become the well-rounded individual I’ve always wanted to become; I strive to be that person every day!
