Reader in Digital Health

With experience in industry, government and academia, Dale's research focuses on the development of sophisticated physical activity measurement methodologies/technologies to advance our understanding of the interplay between physical activity, sedentary behavior, and health.

Amy Jones

Dr Amy Jones

University Teacher (Exercise as Medicine)

Amy is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her research interests lie within exercise-based rehabilitation for adults with chronic disease. Her PhD was titled: Combined exercise-based rehabilitation for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and/or chronic heart failure.

Dr Abi Saunders

University Teacher in Clinical Exercise Physiology

Abi’s research focuses on pathological and physiological cardiac hypertrophy. Most recently, Abi’s work has combined echocardiography and continuous blood pressure monitoring to investigate cardiac structure and function in response to resistance exercise.

Reader in Clinical Exercise Science

I am a Reader in Clinical Exercise Science, specialising in energy balance, obesity and obesity-related disease e.g. type 2 diabetes and chronic liver disease. My work typically centres on biomedical science but also includes elements of epidemiology and behavioural science.

Lecturer in Health Psychology

Nicola’s research examines the role of psychological stress on cardiovascular disease risk via inflammatory mechanisms, and the role of sedentary behaviour & physical activity in this. She holds a Springboard Fellowship from the Academy of Medical Sciences.

Lecturer in Digital Health

I am a Lecturer in Digital Health at Loughborough University, specialising in the use of wearable and sensor-based technologies to study digital biomarkers. My research focuses on how data from these technologies can enhance our understanding of health, wellbeing, and human behaviour.
