About the Student Enquiries Service

How our staff can help you and how to contact us

Whilst studying at Loughborough University, there may be occasions when you need help with a query related to, for example, your student record. There are a number of ways in which we will be able to handle this.

Step 1

Most of the information that you will need to answer your query can be found on these web pages. Likewise, most of our services are now delivered online and can also be accessed via these pages.

You don't need to contact the Student Enquiries Service to request a letter, make a payment to the University, or to answer most questions.

The quickest way to get an answer is to look at our page of frequent questions.

Step 2

If you are not able to find the answer to your query after visiting our web site, then you should contact us by email or telephone using the details below:

Phone lines and emails are staffed from 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday (excluding University closure days). Please bear with us as phone lines and emails are very busy at the moment. Email response times are typically ten working days at present. When you send us an email, please provide your Student Registration Number and use your University email account.

Step 3

If it's not possible to resolve your query via either our online services or the information on our web pages, then you may need to visit the Student Enquiries counter in-person. In-person visits are by appointment only. To ensure we can maintain social distancing at all times, we are not able to offer a drop-in service.

Appointment slots will be limited and should only be booked if an in-person visit is absolutely necessary (e.g. you need to collect a student ID or BRP card, or you are required to provide sight of your visa documentation).

The link below will take you to Learn, to an appointment booking page.

Please note:

  • If you hit the link and get an error, it's probably because you're not logged in to Learn. Log in, then try again.
  • You will have to self-enrol onto the module. It's an extra step, but it helps us to help you.
  • If there are niggles with the system, don't worry - we're working on it. Be patient and we'll make sure you see someone.

If you are a doctoral researcher

If you are a doctoral researcher with an October start date and need to complete your registration you will need to book an appointment and visit the counter no later than Friday 30 October 2020.

If you have already registered remotely but now need to visit us in person to collect your ID card, you will also need to book an appointment and visit us no later than the date agreed with us.

Due to the limited number of appointments if your query relates to anything other than registration, you must contact the Doctoral College Office (DCO) via telephone or email (details above and below), rather than booking an appointment directly.

The DCO will aim to resolve your query over email/telephone first but, if there is a need for an in-person visit, the DCO will book an appointment for you.

Please do not book an appointment for anything other than registration without speaking to a member of the DCO team first as we cannot guarantee that an appropriate member of staff will be available on the day to meet with you in person.
