To become a Student Ambassador, individuals must go through our annual recruitment cycle. This is to ensure that we get the right people for the role: those who are passionate about Higher Education and have the suitable skills needed to excel in the role.
Key recruitment dates
Student ambassador applications are now OPEN.
Key dates for the 2026 cycle:
- Applications open Monday 21st September 2026
- Applications close Thursday 8th October 2026 at 23:59
- Second stage (in-person) Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November 2026
Note: Successful applicants are required to attend two in-person compulsory training sessions to become a central student ambassador. The 2026 training will take place during the week commencing 7th December and week commencing 14th December.

Eligibility
This role is only open to current Loughborough University Students studying at the Loughborough East Midlands Campus. For students based on our Loughborough London Campus please visit Loughborough London Student Ambassadors for more information
The application process
Step 1: Read the job description and application guidance
All candidates' first step should be to read and ensure that they understand the job description, person specification and application guidance. This will equip you with the right knowledge to submit the best application possible.
Step 2: Complete the online application
When completing the online application form, you will need to submit a supporting statement showing how you meet the person specification.
Be sure to use relevant examples and evidence to demonstrate and highlight your skills and experience.
You will also need to provide basic personal details, including your education and employment history.

Step 3: In-person Assessment Centre (Stage Two)
Successful candidates at Stage 1 will be invited to attend a Stage 2 in-person assessment centre.
It will involve taking part in a series of activities and exercises to evaluate key skills, experience and suitability for the role - it's a place for you to show that you have the qualities we look for in central student ambassadors.
The assessment centres will be 2 hours in length and take place on the following dates for 2026:
- Tuesday 3rd November 2026
- Wednesday 4th November 2026
Please note that attendance at an assessment centre is mandatory for a candidate to be considered for the role.
Step 4: Successful Applicants Invited to Compulsory Training
Once all the applications have been assessed, all candidates will be contacted and told whether they were successful or unsuccessful.
Successful candidates will be chosen and invited to attend two in-person compulsory training sessions to learn more about the role and develop the skills needed to succeed as a Student Ambassador.
All central student ambassadors much also complete a Right to Work Check prior to training and agree to our Code of Conduct before they will be permitted to undertake any work for the role.
The 2026 training will take place during:
- Week commencing 7th December
- Week commencing 14th December
