Dr Anne Mumford

Director of Change Projects and Operations Manager for Loughborough University in London (LUiL)

Anne graduated from the Geography Department at the University of Leicester with a B.Sc. (1977) and a Ph.D. (1981). Following this, Anne took up a post in the Computer Centre at Loughborough University. In 1989 Anne commenced a period of working on national projects in the area of computer graphics, visualization and multimedia (as these fields emerged) working firstly with the Research Councils’ central support and the Computer Board and then from 1992 with the Joint Information Systems Committee of the HE Funding Bodies. During this time Anne was also involved in the development of international standards for the computer file formats that today underpin the world-wide-web and transfer of images.

In 1999, Anne became the Director of Media Services at Loughborough University and during her time in this role, chaired the national Standing Conference for Heads of Media Services for 5 years and was project leader for two HEFCE-funded projects on benchmarking of media services and on managing print services.

Alongside her Change Projects role, Anne has also taken up the position of Operations Manager for Loughborough University in London (LUiL), playing a key role in extending Loughborough’s high quality education and innovation to a new demographic of postgraduate students and professionals.
