Loughborough Management Programme – Silver
The Silver Level of the Loughborough Management Programme is designed to help you build the core competencies every effective manager needs. Whether you're looking to strengthen your communication, lead with inclusivity, or deepen your awareness of key workplace topics, these focused workshops offer practical, actionable insights you can apply straight away.
You can complete these elements individually, at your own pace, or work through the full Silver pathway to earn a certificate accredited by The Institute of Leadership.

Silver Level Overview
To achieve the Silver Level, you’ll need to complete the short enrolment form at the bottom of this page and attend the core sessions listed below. These are the minimum requirement for accreditation.
In addition, we strongly encourage you to explore the other sessions available at this level. They’re designed to help you deepen your knowledge, build confidence, and further develop your skills as a manager.
Building the foundations for confident, effective management at Loughborough
This session gives you a clear understanding of what’s expected of managers at Loughborough. You’ll explore the core components of effective management, use the University’s values toolkit, and discover the support systems available to help you succeed.

Breaking Barriers and building belonging through mindful management
Inclusive management is about valuing individual needs while building strong, collaborative teams. In this workshop, you’ll explore how to lead with self-awareness, foster belonging, and break down barriers to inclusion.

Finance at Loughborough
Understand the essentials of University finance.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Delivery: In-person or MS Teams
This interactive session gives you a clear overview of the University’s financial responsibilities, budget processes, and procurement principles. Designed for team leaders, aspiring managers, and new managers, it’s also ideal for those who’ve been in post for a while but haven’t had a formal introduction to University finance. You’ll leave with practical insights to understand budgets and make informed decisions.
Managing Mental Health for Managers and Leaders
Practical skills to lead with empathy and respond effectively.
Duration: 3.5 hours
Delivery: In-person
Recognise when someone may be struggling and learn how to respond appropriately as a line manager. This session aligns with Loughborough’s guidelines and best practices for supporting mental health at work.
Managing Neurodiversity for Managers and Leaders
Fostering inclusion by embracing neurodiverse strengths.
