Development Frameworks

People in the shape of a heart waving

People are at the heart of what we do and our staff are instrumental in our future success. Supporting the development of all colleagues at Loughborough is a key ambition and the Loughborough Development Framework is there to help you plan your development and the development of your teams.

The Loughborough Development Framework, designed through consultation across the University, provides a clear and easy way for all individuals in both Academic and Professional Service roles to identify the learning and development that is available to them, supporting their success both within their current and aspirational roles, and to access that development easily. The content of Loughborough’s Development Framework is dynamic and reflects learning content that enables colleagues to succeed within a constantly changing internal and external context.

Our managers and leaders at all levels of the University have a responsibility for creating an environment that enables both teams and individuals to realise their potential, and to be the best version of themselves.

The first phase of the Loughborough Development Framework consists of three ‘lenses’ - Academic, Leadership and Management - enabling an individual to select the most appropriate lens based on their existing role or a role that they aspire to.  The second phase will introduce lenses for Administrators and Technicians. The Development Framework lenses are supplemented with a range of courses, events and resources available to everyone.
