My advice: consider living in halls beyond first year

I returned to Elvyn Richards hall throughout my studies because it had everything that I needed: an en-suite bathroom, a good sized bed, blazing fast internet and it was very near to my lecture halls. You couldn't really ask for anything better!

Elvyn Richards is less than a 5 minute walk to the Engineering Schools so it has been very convenient for me. Having that closeness to the engineering buildings, study spaces and the STEMLab was especially useful in final year as I’m in the labs almost every day for my final year project.

I chose Loughborough for the highly rated engineering course, easy commute to my family home in London, and recommendations from family members who studied here already. Accommodation options also influenced my choice of university, as I wanted to stay on campus and have plenty of options for catered halls.

Food you'll enjoy

The fish and chips on Fridays are mine and my friends’ favourite. It’s great to have food taken care of so you can spend more time doing the things you want to do.

Living in halls, your bedroom gets cleaned every two weeks and kitchens get cleaned every week. The cleaning teams were so friendly, efficient and do a great job at keeping the flats clean for us. Any damages or issues in the hall were sorted out promptly too. I had a minor medical emergency and was promptly dropped off to the hospital by campus security which I am grateful for.

Living on campus feels very safe anytime during the day, and has led to some of my favourite memories at university like going to the Students Union and having late night walks around campus with my friends.
