Project leader: Professor Mike Wilson

The aim of the project is to answer the major, unanswered question of how best to incorporate and optimise the combination of biodiversity, ecosystem services, and cultural values within natural resource management.

Through storytelling, questionnaires and community co-design workshops along páramo-cloudforest altitudinal transects, we will map cultural values to evaluate the extent to which people are aware of and culturally value biodiversity and ecosystem service flows from within and outside of their local regions, bring numeric metrics approaches to bear on mapping of cultural values from storytelling, and co-design with local communities solutions to natural resource management that work for all.
