Fine Art Specialism

I produced this image in response to the plastics issue with the aim of raising awareness. It represents how our oceans are being overrun by plastic with a devastating impact on marine life. Through research I was shocked to discover that it's predicted by 2050 the number of plastics in the ocean will exceed the number of fish. I was able to create this bizarre, warped landscape by floating plastic on the surface of water. I allowed the plastic to move around organically on the water rather than positioning it myself, I found this created the most interesting compositions. The lack of control over the outcome of the composition represents how we don't have control of the plastics pollution issue. The situation is getting worse. The image represents the future of the environment we face without change.
