3-Dimensional Design Specialism
When conducting research for this project I became fascinated with bioplastics. I wanted to develop a material that no longer required the use of hydrocarbons or long chain carbon compounds found in plastics. When searching for a solution I came across a website called Materiom which helped direct my focus towards exploring and developing a Japanese Knotweed Bioplastic. It is a completely recyclable, compostable and edible material made from a vegan gelatine substitute (Carrageenan Iota), glycerol, water, and Japanese Knotweed.
