Andy is an Illustrator and Senior Lecturer in Illustration at the University of Worcester. He is a part-time Doctoral Researcher using illustration to investigate the narratives of the River Severn.

Title of thesis: Uncovering the Hidden: Investigating the River Severn through Illustration

The combination of illustration, archaeological and ethnographic methodologies within site-specific research projects is an expanding area of enquiry, which has implications on the perceived and potential roles for contemporary Illustrators. By reflecting on these debates whilst exploring locations along the River Severn and ‘mapping’ them through a combination of archival research and multi-media documentative techniques, this research seeks to articulate the process of responding to and representing place.
