Undergraduate Access
To get the best out of your analysis, please come in-person to S building, S1.042 and have a chat with one of the LMCC staff to see how we can best assist you with your project. Please bring along an example sample, if possible, and have an idea of the information you hope to achieve from you analysis (any available papers /reports /publications may help).
Key things to note:
- Undergraduates outside of AACME must supply a charge code, this can be obtained from your supervisor.
- Wet samples may cause issues within our vacuum systems, please consult with us beforehand for the best methods of sample preparation.
- Scanning electron microscopy requires a conductive specimen, if your samples are non-conductive we have the facilities within the centre to coat your samples.
- Lots of LMCC equipment is very surface sensitive so avoid touching sample with bare hands.
- If your samples are hazardous in any capacity please bring along the relevant safety documentation.
- It is in your best interest to do some pre-reading on the techniques you wish to use, the link to our LMCC training platform is below.
