Find out more about the academic researchers working in the Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage Laboratory (EECS Lab) at Loughborough University.

Dr Dowon Bae’s research interests include solar and thermal energy conversion via electrocatalytic and electrochemical systems.

Dr Kim’s main focus is on the thermally regenerative electrochemical cycle (TREC) for the RFB application (EPSRC-funded position).

Joseph Russell started his PhD project at Loughborough University in 2024. His main research focus is on the electrolyte design for the TREC RFB applications.

Ms Jeongmi Kim is an Assistant Director of the Gas Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea. Her research focus is Gas Market Governance Reform.
Mr Han is PhD student from KOREATECH and his research focus is on membranes for RFB and electrolyser applications. NRF Korea supports his visit under the BK21 programme.
