Solar photovoltaics event a success

The CREST-led Sustainable Solar Energy Systems Network Plus, which offers structured support to Early Career Researchers in the field of solar photovoltaics, recently organised this year’s Advances in Photovoltaics meeting, held at the Institute of Physics in London on 12th November 2025.

With over 70 attendees from across UK universities and industry, this one-day meeting brought together researchers across the breadth of topics in solar photovoltaics to connect and share their ideas. The programme featured invited speakers from NPL, Swansea University, University of Cambridge, Lancaster University and Loughborough University, alongside speaking opportunities for Early Career Researchers, including the CREST PV Materials and Devices group PhD student Jacques Kenyon, who described his work on “Sub-bandgap mapping and surface recombination analysis of cathodoluminescence images”.

The event also featured the annual Institute of Physics IPSI Group prize for best poster presentation, which was awarded to Luksa Kujovic of the PV Materials and Devices group at CREST for his poster on “Enhanced interface passivation in CdSeTe/CdTe solar cells through SnO2/ZnO bilayer buffer design”.
