Additive Manufacture of a Design Freedom Demonstrator

Sean Devereux

Additive Manufacturing, or 3D Printing, is an area that has witnessed rapid expansion in recent years. Despite becoming more popular and accessible than ever before, few people know the true design freedoms that Additive Manufacture can provide. This project’s aim was to investigate these freedoms by conducting research, concept design and testing, to ultimately lead to the creation of a motor powered demonstrator model that would capture the imagination of viewers. In the form of a marble run, the model that was printed in one job, displays these affordable design freedoms.
