Brazilians at Loughborough tend to become fully involved with the student experience and immerse themselves wholly in British culture. From playing handball or futsal for the University teams, living in our top-ranked accommodation or joining one of the 100 clubs and societies that form part of the Students’ Union.
Loughborough Students’ Union provides a home away from home for Brazilian students, by organising events and activities throughout the year, including trips across the UK and nights out in and around Loughborough. The trip organisers listen to the students’ suggestions. Some popular excursions for Brazilians have been the Harry Potter film studios, a Beatles tour in Liverpool and the historic city of York. Brazilian students also speak about how much they take advantage of the University’s close proximity to East Midlands airport, only 20 minutes from campus, to travel cheaply across Europe. Our postgraduate students may also bring their families to Loughborough, enrolling their children in the local schools
