Opportunity Scholarships: giving together
Support students from low socioeconomic backgrounds by making a donation to Opportunity Scholarships.
We are asking you to be part of a collective approach to the way in which we can support our students through Opportunity Scholarships.
An Opportunity Scholarship awards a student with a financial gift of £3,000 a year for three years.
The scholarship supports students’ living costs. They may need to purchase course materials and computing equipment which is vital to their academic success – something many other students may take for granted.
A full scholarship is worth £9,000 over the course of three years. We know that is a big ask.
That is why we are asking you, as our alumni and friends, to give whatever you can.

Giving together
We are appealing to you - our alumni and friends - to ask you to support us on our journey to offering more scholarships. Every donation counts towards the creation of another scholarship.
It costs £9,000 to fund one Opportunity Scholarship. Recipients of scholarships are awarded the money over a period of three years of study, and it is split into three equal instalments each year, so they receive £1,000 per term for three years of Loughborough study at undergraduate level.
Many scholars cannot rely on family income to support them during or outside of term.
Not everyone has somewhere else to go to over the holidays. Many students will stay in Loughborough, remain in halls or in their accommodation, and so their funds need to last a full year.
We need just 900 donations of £10 to create a full scholarship for a deserving Loughborough student. If you choose to donate £10, you could be part of something much bigger.
The more we raise, the more scholarships we can support.
Any amount is a generous gift towards Opportunity Scholarships.
