EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine (RM) is widely seen as the next major innovation in healthcare.

The ability to repair and replace damaged cells and tissue, using emerging technologies such as stem cells, offers the potential of lifetime cures for unmet medical needs, including conditions such as Alzheimer’s, heart failure, blindness and joint degeneration.

The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Regenerative Medicine will be an integrated platform of fundamental and translational research that forms the basis of a sustainable world-class centre of excellence – a translational ‘go-to’ resource for the RM product developer.

Through a skill base and skilled people spanning disciplines, the established capability will enable UK companies to maintain leadership in the commercial realisation of the RM industry.

The Centre benefits from over £5M of EPSRC funding and is located within the Centre for Biological Engineering which is situated within the University’s Holywell Park research facility.
