I moved to Loughborough in September 2025 and since then have held a Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellowship. Before moving to Loughborough, I held postdoctoral positions at the Open University (2024-2025) and University of Birmingham (2023-2024).

Broadly, my main research interests lie in aperiodic order (mathematical quasicrystals), symbolic dynamics, ergodic theory, fractal geometry and multifractal analysis. A specific focus of my current research is the study of hierarchical dynamical systems, such as those defined by substitutions and their generalisations. These systems are the prototypical examples of mathematical quasicrystals and possess many interesting properties. In addition to the purely mathematical elements of my research, I am also interested in applications of aperiodic patterns in engineering, where they have found utility in the design of metamaterials.
