EPSRC Vacation Internship 2024

The EPSRC Vacation Internship scheme offers undergraduate students a taster of what it is like to engage with research. The successful student will be given first-hand experience of carrying out research within the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering. This opportunity is open to applicants within the School and will be competitively awarded.

We have one vacation internship to award. The successful applicant will work on their choice of the three projects advertised. Details of the three projects you can choose between are below.

Requirements

  • You are expected to be on target for a minimum 2:1
  • You must be due to graduate in June 2025
  • You must be available to work in the School for 10 weeks between 20 June and 27 September 2024
  • Projects can start at any date after 20 June 2024, but they cannot go beyond 27 September 2024

Internship funding

The appointment will be 37 hours per week fixed term for 10 weeks, commencing on or after 20 June 2024 and completing by 27 September 2024. The salary will be within Administrative Services, Grade 3, sp7 £22,011 pa.

It is essential that you notify us of any holiday time you may require during the project as we need to take this into account at the application stage. Students will be entitled to annual leave days that must be taken within the 10 weeks of the internship.

The school's Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and Director/Deputy Director of Doctoral Programmes will interview shortlisted applicants with the relevant Project Leader and will select the successful applicant.
