What does Culture & Creativity mean to me?

LU Arts is celebrating the launch of the new Loughborough University Culture and Creativity Strategic Plan by hosting a special dinner on Tuesday 6 February 2024. Senior managers and key staff and student representatives with an interest/involvement in the arts will be attending this event. We would like your help in showcasing the importance of the arts and culture to you and its value to the University. We want you to submit words and/or visuals that communicate why arts and culture are important. We will incorporate these submissions in a specially designed tablecloth that will form the centrepiece at the launch event. You don’t need to be artistic, we just need you to submit a photo that captures your chosen artform or provide a piece of creative writing or graphic design that communicates why creativity is important to you. We will choose 5 entries to win £20 Love2Shop vouchers!

We would like students and staff to submit your submission should respond to the question 'What does Culture & Creativity mean to me?'. This can be done in one of three ways:

1. A photograph that communicates or celebrates your artform area. This can involve you or your group practicing or performing or can be more symbolic.
2. A short piece of creative writing (less than 200 characters) that communicates why culture and creativity is important to you
3.  A piece of graphic design that makes a statement about why arts and culture are important to you.

We want entries from a broad range of staff and students who are engaged in a cross section of artforms, from dance to drama and art to creative writing. Please be as creative as possible and show the University why arts and creativity is important to the staff and student experience.

The key thing with all submissions is that it communicates a positive message that celebrates or communicates what art means to you!

Your work will help support our ambition to increase the value of culture and creativity on campus.

Please fill out one of the options below along with your name to enter your submission by Tuesday 23rd January 12pm.
