The Study UK Alumni Awards are open to alumni who have studied at a UK higher education institution within the past 15 years and who currently live outside the UK.
There are four award categories:
- Science and Sustainability Award – recognising alumni who have distinguished themselves through their career and achievements in science and sustainability, and who can demonstrate the impact and scale of their contributions.
- Culture, Creativity and Sport Award – recognising alumni who have carved out successful careers in arts, culture and sport, demonstrating artistic ingenuity, influence and creativity.
- Social Action Award – recognising alumni who have made an exceptional contribution to creating positive social change and improving the lives of others.
- Business and Innovation Award – recognising alumni who are driving innovative ideas, solutions and business opportunities with the potential for significant growth and impact.
The awards offer a unique opportunity to raise your international profile, build professional networks and business connections, and compete for a prize trip to the UK.
During the Study UK Alumni Awards 2025-26, Loughborough graduates excelled with five alumni receiving national recognition.
The University had three finalists across China, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia – Fangjin (Virginia) Zhang (Virtual Product Design MSc, 2009); Foluso Agbaje (Accounting and Financial Management BSc, 2013); Fahd Ahmed Banakhr (Electrical and Electronic Engineering PhD, 2013) – and two winners: Shunhao Jia (Sport Management MSc, 2013) won the Culture, Creativity and Sport Award in China, while Aman Dhall (Sport Management MSc, 2011) won the same category in India before progressing to become a Global Finalist.
Aman is a social entrepreneur and impact investor bridging grassroots development, fintech and education. He co-founded Pro Sport Development, using sport to build life skills for more than 1,500 children in conflict-affected communities, a venture that earned recognition from the International Olympic Committee. He has also led communications at PB Fintech (PolicyBazaar), helping to reach more than 250 million households with financial protection services, and later founded CommsCredible, a PR and communications technology venture investing across finance, healthcare, sport and technology.
Reflecting on his time at the University, Aman said:

The experiences, networks and opportunities I gained at Loughborough gave me the confidence and skills to pursue ambitious goals and create impact at a global scale."
The deadline for applications to the 2027 Study UK Alumni Awards is 15 October 2026. Prospective applicants can also attend 'How to Apply' webinars on 22 September and 7 October.
