Two alumni gatherings took place in India, with one held in Mumbai on 22 October, and another in Delhi on 24 October. They were hosted by Sean, a member of the University's Global Engagement team. Both events, which took place over dinner, brought together alumni to discuss key topics such as alumni engagement, student recruitment, and ways alumni can support the University.
Martyn Edwards, Director of Marketing and Advancement, hosted an alumni meet-up in Shanghai, where attendees expressed interest in supporting future volunteering opportunities for alumni events.
Towards the end of the month, Professor Elizabeth Peel from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities also met with alumni in Shanghai over dinner to reconnect and engage in discussions.
Alumna Suki Zhang (MSc Economics and Finance 2015) arranged a meet-up at the Golden Panda International Rowing Club, located on Xinglong Lake in Chengdu, Sichuan. The club is owned by fellow alumnus Jinqiu Cai who studied a PhD at Loughborough in 2017. Eleven alumni from various fields attended the event. The group started the day off with kayaking and then gathered for an evening meal to discuss their personal journeys, career achievements and future aspirations.
We're excited to learn more about future alumni events and look forward to seeing how these networks evolve. You can discover more about our global community and visit our events page regularly for updates on events near you.
