The couple celebrated with friends and family, including other alumni, and they will soon be off on their honeymoon to Tanzania to go to the Serengeti and Zanzibar.
The pair originally met on Instagram whilst looking for others on their course before starting university and then met in person during fresher’s week.
By October Joe and Sammy were officially in a relationship. Joe was in Elvyn Richards Hall and Sammy was staying in Telford. They then moved out of halls and to a place in town together for their final year of studies before moving to Warwick together after university.
Joe said:
At graduation we were even lucky enough to go on stage one after the other.
Since leaving Loughborough, the pair has moved onto having successful careers. Sammy now works as a Pensions Actuarial Associate Consultant at Aon and Joe works as Manager, Customer Support at Enable (a software company)
The couple continue to visit Loughborough every year on the anniversary of when they first got together.
Congratulations to Joe and Sammy on their marriage.
